Lost City Ironworks was founded in 1996 by owner and head metalsmith, Philip Rohan, who began learning his craft at the age of fourteen in Cork, Ireland.
Lost City Ironworks' mission is to provide a level of value, service and attention to detail that other competitors do not achieve. Most clients notice this difference on the very first project through the intense questioning from our project managers and detailers. The most common response we hear: "Nobody has ever asked this many questions before". Finding and solving issues before they become problems is a reputation we are proud of.
At Lost City Ironworks, we take a vested interest in the installation of our products. From the very conception of a project, we look at the needs of the people who will end up installing it and make every effort to ensure the installation process is as smooth and simple as possible, often going the extra mile at our own expense. At Lost City we know building long term relationships require extra effort and remaining conscientious of our client's bottom line.
Finally, and perhaps most importantly, is the issue of value. At Lost City Ironworks, we know our greatest service to our clients is providing value. Lost City Ironworks is located in the heart of South Los Angeles, California, where we enjoy many advantages. We are surrounded by numerous competing suppliers of raw materials and services and our location in South Los Angeles affords us reasonable manufacturing overhead and an abundant labor pool. Additionally, we maintain our labor costs by training our own talent through an in-house apprentice program./
